WESTERN Region MLC Andrew Elsbury has signed up for a hairy good cause this month.
Last week, the politician said he was pleased to join Movember and in a statement said “rumours that his shaver had broken were unfounded”.
The annual Movember campaign aims to raise funds for research into, and awareness of, prostate cancer,
Mr Elsbury’s father died last year after a battle with prostate cancer.
“My father did not get to see the birth of my second daughter or me being sworn in as a Member of Parliament. He was an important part of my political journey and he would have been a fantastic grandfather to my second daughter,” Mr Elsbury said.
“I congratulate all the other Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who are taking up the cudgel of this year’s Movember and encourage the greatest amount of support from people who recognise the tragedy which is men’s health issues, especially prostate cancer and depression in men.”
