POLICE are calling on the public to help them catch two brazen thugs they believe stabbed a Hoppers Crossing man in the head last month.
The attack occurred at the Green Point car park at Brighton Beach late last month when the man and his friends were confronted by two men.
They soon got into an argument and it is believed that one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the Hoppers Crossing man in the head and stomach.
A friend from Altona Meadows that tried to stop the attack was also stabbed in the shoulder.
Images of two men the police wish to speak to about the incident were released last week.
Police said at the time that the attackers had left their victims for dead as they fled the scene in a Mitsubishi Lancer.
“Both groups then left the area with the victims attempting to get to a hospital,” a police spokesperson said.
“They made it to the St Kilda Sea Baths before calling emergency services.”
Paramedics said the Hoppers Crossing man was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
The two men police wish to speak to are described as in their 20s with solid builds and are believed to be of Indian appearance.
One wore a red singlet and the other wore a white V-neck T-shirt.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
