ONE of the blockbuster games in the Western Region Football League Division Two season just got even bigger after it was confirmed Kent Kingsley will line up for Glen Orden against Wyndhamvale this weekend. The game is shaping up as an early taste of finals action with both clubs expected to figure heavily in September action.
Glen Orden vice president Louie Elevato said the Hawks are rapt to have Kingsley involved.
“To have a former AFL player like Kent playing for Glen Orden is a massive step in the right direction for the club,” he said.
“A lot of the boys are very excited to have Kent in the team this week and hopefully he enjoys it as much as them and we come away with the win against our arch rival to top it off.”
Kingsley played AFL football for North Melbourne and Geelong before rounding out his 125 game career with a stint at Richmond.
He finished with 239 goals and was Geelong’s leading goal scorer in four consecutive seasons.
Later in the WRFL season, Kingsley is expected to line up for the Hawks with former Cats teammate Cameron Mooney.
It has already been a bumper start to the season for Glen Orden after the Hawks easily accounted for West Footscray by a whopping 182 points in round one last week.
In other results, Wyndhamvale defeated Caroline Springs by 33 points.
