A WERRIBEE student with an understanding of the importance of hard work has been honoured with an award from Premier Ted Baillieu.
Kerri Ramos, who lives in Sunshine West but goes to school at Heathdale Christian College in Werribee, was presented with a Premier’s VCE award last month after she achieved a score of 49 in Sport and Recreation.
The near perfect score was the result of much hard work, but the 17-year-old said she was still surprised with the result.
“When I looked at the score I was shocked,” Ms Ramos told Star.
“I couldn’t even believe my eyes. I thought it was a typo.”
The good news kept on coming when Ms Ramos was told she would be receiving the Premier’s award.
“I didn’t even believe I could get an award like that,” she said.
As Mr Baillieu presented the awards on 27 June he said all the recipients should be proud of what they had achieved.
“Completing your VCE is challenging and you should be very proud of your fine results,” Mr
Baillieu said.
“Today is a day to celebrate the outstanding achievements of these committed and talented students who, through their drive and determination, have excelled in their VCE.”
Ms Ramos is currently in Year 12 and said she had not yet decided what she wanted to do when she leaves school.
