CITY West Water customers are being encouraged to spout on about Melbourne’s water future.
The water body has set up an on-line forum, Let’s Talk Water Melbourne, to gather input from residential and business customers that will help shape planning for Melbourne’s water needs for the next 50 years.
City West Water managing director Anne Barker said the forum was a great way for the community to give their views on the water future for the next two generations.
“We’re asking for views on three main topics: water restrictions and how they’re formulated, how we make decisions about water-related infrastructure, and the value of water itself,” she said.
“We learned from a long period of low rainfall that reduced availability of water supply in the community has far reaching effects, especially in relation to public open spaces, gardens and community sporting facilities.”
