DESPITE being slowed down by heavy rain storms earlier in the year, one of Werribee’s biggest road reconstructions is almost complete.
The $1.23 million Tower Rd reconstruction, between the Princes Highway and Goegan St, is expected to be finished by the end of this month.
The works included the reconstruction of the road pavement, replacement of the kerb and channel, linemarking and naturestrip reinstatement works.
Wyndham Mayor John Menegazzo said that segment of Tower Rd was reaching the end of its life and needed reconstruction.
“Tower Rd is an important collector road, used by residents and motorists heading to nearby motels and businesses,” Cr Menegazzo said.
“While the works did suffer minor delays due to inclement weather, this project was necessary as the traffic volumes have been steadily increasing, along with our population.”
