MARIBYRNONG City Council has released new concept designs to spruce up Seddon’s streetscape.
The new designs, which focus on parts of Charles and Victoria streets, include new street furniture, more trees and lighting upgrades.
The proposed streetscape design is part of the Seddon Urban Design Framework, and will build on the existing central median works and continue to green the village, improve safety and slow traffic.
It is anticipated the design will be completed by December 2011 and construction will commence in July 2012.
“We know our community wants to keep their suburb green and maintained as a suburban oasis. We now want to check in and ensure this streetscape design is consistent with community expectations,” councillor Martin Zakharov said.
A copy of the Seddon UDF can be found on council’s website at www.maribyrnong.vic.gov.au. A community meeting will be held on 22 August from 7pm at Seddon Uniting Church.
