WERRIBEE continued its impressive form in the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association with a 156-run thrashing of Yarraville on Saturday.
After making 7/255 on day one, thanks to a brilliant 122 from Matthew Dean, the Tigers wasted no time getting on top with the ball as well.
Opening bowler Jonathon Burton dismissed Tim McRae with the score on 19 and from there, the wickets tumbled. Yarraville lost 7/27 and slumped to 7/46.
Joshua Raymer and Daniel Janka tried to create some resistance at the crease with the pair making 14 and 31 runs respectively.
However, there would be no miraculous comeback and when they were dismissed, the rest of the tail quickly followed. Yarraville was eventually bowled out for 99 in the 63rd over.
Burton was the pick of the Werribee bowlers, taking 3/5 from an amazing 13-over spell.
He was well supported by Stephen Plumridge, who also took three wickets, while Heath Pritchard claimed two.
Werribee remain undefeated in the VSDCA with a perfect 6-0 start to the season.
In other VSDCA results from the weekend, Williamstown was defeated by Box Hill, Altona got the better of Melton and Sunshine came out on top against Mt Waverley.
