AUSTRALIAN singing sensation Pete Murray will be one of the headline performances at this month’s Live on the Lawn at Werribee Park.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter is currently touring the nation with his ‘Feeler 10 Year Anniversary’ tour, which commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the release of his debut album ‘Feeler’.
“Feeler was a big album 10 years ago it really had a big connection to a lot of people,” Murray said.
The album reached number one on the national ARIA charts and spent over two and a half years in the Top 100.
It was also nominated for a whopping 12 ARIA awards.
“It was quite amazing that it hung in the charts for such a long time and kept selling,” he said.
Murray said he felt people connected to the songs, lyrics and emotions of the album helping making it such a huge success.
Joining Murray on the tour is his original band The Stonemasons.
“It’s great with the band, they are just loving being on the road and getting back and playing these shows again,” he said.
Murray said fans can expect to hear lots of songs they know and encouraged them to “get fired up” and warm their voices up to sing along.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Other headliners include former Powderfinger front-man Bernard Fanning, who has previously collaborated with Murray.
Murray said he hoped the two could join forces again at the Werribee event and wow the crowds.
Aria award winning Josh Pyke, ‘Offspring’ star Clare Bowditch and Melbourne band Passerine will also be performing at the event on 16 March.
