GREEN Gully continues to march confidently towards the Victorian Premier League finals after dispatching the Oakleigh Chargers 4-1 on Sunday.
The Cavaliers on their home turf at Jack Edwards Reserve were dominant with goals to Joel Nikolic, Andy Vargas, Matthew Sanders and Pablo Cardozo rounding out the emphatic win.
The Cavs sit in fourth spot one point clear of South Melbourne and Heidelberg United.
They face 10th-placed Richmond in the last game of the season on Sunday and will be looking for a win to secure their spot.
The ninth-placed Melbourne Knights were unable to stop the might of Dandenong in their Saturday night clash.
The Knights were always going to be up against it with the Thunder rolling along 10 points clear on top of the VPL ladder, the final score 3-1.
Ian Pulman was the Knights’ lone goal scorer.
The Knights look to their final game of the season against third-placed Altona on Sunday.
An upset win could cause some grief for the Altona side, which is only three points ahead of fifth and sixth place.
Sunshine George Cross played Whittlesea on Monday with scores unavailable at the time of writing.
If the Georgies were able to get up against the Zebras they will move to even points with Heidelberg and South Melbourne with a chance to sneak into the finals.
