THE Wog Boy is back – and he will be on a Yarraville street near you next week.
Nick Giannopoulos and Vince Colosimo will reprise their roles in Yarraville Village from Monday to film the opening scenes of the Wog Boy sequel.
The Kings of Mykonos picks up a few years after the original and things aren’t going so well for Wog Boy Steve Karamatsis – his prized ’67 Valiant Pacer has been towed away and all his assets seized because he trusted the wrong Italian.
Meanwhile, Steve’s best mate Frank has been thrown out by his wife and Frank’s cousin Dominic has his shop raided by the Federal Police. But things start looking up when Steve discovers he has inherited a multi-million dollar beach and tavern on the Greek island of Mykonos from an uncle he never met.
The Wog Boy, which came out in 2000, grossed $13.4 million, making it one of Australia’s most successful comedies.
The sequel will be launched at Yarraville’s Sun Theatre.
Traders were initially unhappy with the arrangement and its effect on business, but have been placated by the offer to launch the film in Yarraville.
