LEARNING lines for a performance might sound like a chore, but it is a pastime enjoyed by young Werribee resident Elias Anton.
Elias, who has studied at Adam Turnbull Acting (ATA) in Hoppers Crossing since 2009, recently starred in the short film ‘Headcase’ as a teenage bully.
“It was really fun, I like cameras but I pretend they’re not there when I’m acting,” he said.
At 13 years old, Elias says he sometimes gets nervous before stepping onto the stage but is fine once he starts performing.
“I’m used to it, I’ve been doing it for years,” he said.
“I love monologues, I love the challenge, I love learning lines, the way I pronounce and everything about acting.
“Learning lines is easy.”
“I want to be a performer and actor, in a show like ‘Neighbours’.
“I’d love to go to Hollywood but everyone does too.
“I want to be on television and I want to know what it’s like.”
The Year 7 MacKillop College student said his favourite actors included Jason Segal, Will Ferrell and Charlie Sheen.
“I like a bit of comedy, but I like action movies the best,” he said.
At the ATA lessons, Elias and his fellow students take part in warm-up acting exercises, including games and improvisation.
“I find it pretty fun. I like making people laugh,” he said.
