WYNDHAM’S roads have claimed their youngest victim this year with a newborn baby dying as a result of a car crash in Point Cook.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Boardwalk Boulevard and Dunnings Rd in Point Cook on Tuesday at around 10am.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said investigators believe a vehicle travelling north along Boardwalk Blvd collided with another vehicle travelling East on Dunnings Rd.
A pregnant woman involved in the crash gave birth prematurely and the baby died in hospital later that day.
Before this week’s accident the last fatal road accident in Wyndham was on 12 September when a motorcycle collided with a bus that was entering Hoppers Lane.
