YEAR 9 and 10 students from Wyndham are being encouraged to enter a competition that could see them on their way to Gallipoli.
Member for Western Metropolitan Region, Andrew Elsbury, said 12 lucky students could win an all-expense paid trip to the Western Front as part of the Premier’s Spirit of ANZAC Prize competition.
“This is an incredible opportunity for local students to experience first-hand the places and events that have shaped our county’s history” Mr Elsbury said.
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Hugh Delahunty said that the 2014 Premier’s Spirit of ANZAC Prize will provide 12 students, two more than previous years, with the opportunity to participate in the study-tour.
“Young Victorians are able to tap into Australia’s proud military history, learn more of the impact of war and explore the ANZAC spirit and its relevance today” Mr Delahunty said.Applications for the competition can be downloaded at www.dpcd.vic.gov.au/veterans/premiers-spirit-of-anzac-prize
