Redeveloped community

THE Copperfields Family Centre is to be renamed to reflect the local area after Brimbank City councillors endorsed a report at their April council meeting.
The centre is likely to be known as the Delahey Community Centre after the council asked residents for their views on a name for the centre.
The centre is undergoing redevelopment partly funded by the council and the State Government Modernising Neighbourhood House Program.
The council report tabled at the 22 April meeting stated the reasons why council decided on the renaming included inconsistency and confusion regarding the name.
The report said there were six different names by which the centre was known and referred to in street and building signage and government funding agreements.
Further community consultation is to start today to ensure the community agrees to the name Delahey Community Centre with submissions required to be handed to council by 20 May.
