The group was one of eight teams to win the highly-regarded Spirit Award at the Enactus National Conference and Championships for their dedication to helping their community.
Teams from 22 Australian universities participated in the three-day competition and presented their projects to a panel of judges drawn from the business community around Australia.
Mustapha said he joined the group in order to help the community.
“Enactus is about giving back to the community and changing people’s lives,” Mustapha said.
“Every time I do something, I just want to do even more because I see how it affects the community,” he said.
The group work on various projects to help community members in need.
One such project was the collection of items and clothes from staff and students from the school which were donated to the Salvation Army and asylum seekers.
The 22 year-old said being recognised for his team’s effort was overwhelming and joyous.
“Our team is like a family, we care about each other and about what each other is doing and we work so hard,” he said.
Mustapha said the award reflected the team’s passion and spirit and the success of their projects which positively impacted the community.
