Footscray will take on Kew in the grand final this Sunday, with the winner to join minor premier Mentone in State League One next season.
Mentone was knocked out of the finals race in straight sets after losing to Kew and then Footscray.
The Bulldogs, desperate to be promoted to the top division, will go into the grand final with confidence, after defeating Kew 4-1 in round 17.
Footscray’s women’s State League Two hockey team will also contest the grand final against MCC after defeating Kew 4-1 in the preliminary final.
The women’s side secured promotion to State League One with the win.
Footscray Hockey Club will have 15 teams competing in grand finals across senior and junior grades this weekend.
The Hopkins-Thomas family will have all five family members competing for their respective teams on the weekend.
