Big blitz nets 40

WERRIBEE Police have warned drivers to abide by the road rules after officers issued a string of fines last Wednesday.
The Traffic Management Unit ran a major operation targeting hoon behaviour in the Wyndham area, with four police units involved in the twilight patrol.
There were 49 vehicles stopped, 40 infringement notices, six defect notices and one EPA notice.
One learner was nabbed and 10 were P-plate drivers.
Eight were caught speeding at up to 25 kilometres per hour over the limit, six were driving unregistered vehicles and two caught using their mobile phones.
Senior Constable Paul Scherf said he was disappointed with the disregard for traffic laws.
