THE Wyndham community is gearing up to support safe cycling.
Wyndham City Council will loan a well-equipped trailer to schools, community centres and community groups.
It houses bikes, helmets, visibility vests and bike repair kits.
Mayor Shane Bourke said the trailer would allow people to take a bike for a spin rather than using a car.
Councillor Heather Marcus, who has been a regular cyclist, said it was important to encourage children to ride their bike safely early in life.
“Teaching children to ride bikes safely often means they continue cycling, which contributes to a healthier lifestyle and reduces pollution,” Cr Marcus said.
