WYNDHAM Swimming Club’s Marko Ivosev returned home from another swimming championship recently and like he has done so many times before, he medalled and produced numerous top 10 finishes.
This time around it was the Australian State Teams Short Course Championships held at the AIS in Canberra.
Ivosev brought home bronze in the boys 14-15 400m individual medley for his only podium finish but came so close in his other five events.
He came fourth in the 400m freestyle relay and in the 200m individual medley.
Ivosev also produced top 10 finishes in the 200m breaststroke, 200m butterfly and 100m breaststroke.
According to Wyndham City Swimming Club head coach Paul Taylor athletes needed to apply to represent their state in this competition with only the best age group swimmers selected.
Taylor praised the young swimmer for his performances.
“Five top 10 placings out of five individual races is a great achievement,” he said.
“We now have our sights set on building upon those performances at the Australian Championships next year.”
In other Wyndham City news, Andrew Jarvis achieved his first Australian Age qualifying time at the Bayside Long Course carnival held recently at MSAC.
Jarvis qualified in the 200m backstroke with a time of 2 minutes 29.05 seconds.
