WILLIAMSTOWN has wasted no time putting its team together for a tilt at the 2012 VFL premiership, recruiting former Casey Scorpion Michael Stockdale last week.
Stockdale, who was named as a full back in the 2010 VFL team of the year and finished fifth in last year’s Liston Trophy count, has signed on with the Seagulls for the next two years.
The classy defender has played 50 VFL games and has previously played under Williamstown coach Peter German when German coached the Scorpions in 2009.
The former Gippsland Power junior has attracted interest from several AFL clubs and at 21, the dream of landing a coveted AFL contract is not over.
He joins other former Power team-mates Ed Carr, Nick Sing and Dale Hoghton, who also have dreams of taking that next step.
The Seagulls have also signed former Murray Bushranger and Vic Country representative Sam Myors.
Myors, a pacy wingmen who played for North Albury in the Ovens and Murray League this year, comes to the club having represented Victoria Country in the 2010 Under 18 National Championships where he impressed, kicking three goals in the win over WA.
Myors was invited to the 2010 AFL state combine following his good form in the TAC Cup for the Bushrangers and his performance in the National Championships.
