THE company in charge of rural water supply across Victoria is asking Wyndham licence holders to have a say in how they operate.
Southern Rural Water is preparing a five year strategic plan, Water Plan 3, and wants to hear ideas from residents about water prices and service levels.
The plan will deal with services that Southern Rural Water provides in farm dam, groundwater and surface water licensing, reservoir management and management of irrigation districts.
Managing Director, Clinton Rodda, said Southern Rural Water is starting the plan with the philosophy of providing great service at a fair price, and said any proposed new projects would be thoroughly tested later in the year to ensure they have licence holder support.
“We have already started working closely with our customer consultative committees on Water Plan 3, and will continue to do so throughout 2012,” Mr Rodda said.
“We are interested in hearing from licence holders who are not on our committees.
“This is a chance for them to influence prices and service levels offered by Southern Rural Water.”
Mr Rodda said some of Southern Rural Water’s programs, such as compliance monitoring, cannot be changed because of legislative requirements.
“However, there are many other things that we can negotiate to either improve levels of service, or prices,” he said. For more information call Southern Rural Water on 1300 129 510.
