WYNDHAM’S aspiring singers and musicians are being encouraged to dust off their guitars, pianos and microphones and take the first step from being a garage band to a sell-out sensation.
Wyndham Council’s Youth Services and Infinite Entertainment are giving residents the chance to showcase their music, network and potentially receive opportunities to perform at future Wyndham FReeZA band events, by holding a Jam Night on Friday, 31st May, 2013 at the Youth Resource Centre in Hoppers Crossing.
Councillor, Adele Hegedich, said the night is a perfect platform for Wyndham’s aspiring bands and musicians in Wyndham to put their name in lights.
“Solo artists and bands of all genres and experience level are welcome and all acts will be given the option to play between one and four songs,” Cr Hegedich said.
“Jam Night is a chance for Wyndham’s musicians to demonstrate their talents in a safe and supportive environment. Acts don’t need to register and there’s no minimum set time, so it’s a real chance to impress.
“Not only will musicians be able to meet, network and jam with fellow musicians, you never know who will be there watching you – it could be your ticket into the music industry.”
Backline equipment such as drums and amplifiers will be provided but musicians will need to bring their own guitars and leads.
The Jam Night will be held on Friday, 31 May at the Youth Resource Centre, 86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing. Doors will open at 6pm and the stage available for performers until 10pm. Entry is free.
