THE Deer Park Bypass walking and cycling path was fully opened last week with dozens of active Brimbank residents already taking advantage of the facility.
The Wellness Trail opened last week and runs alongside the Deer Park Bypass between Caroline Springs and Sunshine West.
The trail features six rest stops along the way featuring colourful mosaic artworks created by people recovering from mental illness.
Creative arts therapist Carolyn Noel said the trail was for fantastic health and well-being.
“This project is unique, with each mosaic providing an image and message from the artist about how to keep well and happy, reflecting the artist’s personal experience,” Ms Noel said.
“Seeing their work on permanent public display is certainly a positive experience for patients in the adult mental health program and we’re thrilled to have had this opportunity.”
A map and brochure of the trail is downloadable from www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/deerparkbypass
