Love at first click

AS the holiday season nears more and more people are expected to turn to the internet to try and find that special someone.
A Hoppers Crossing couple that found love through internet dating said it felt like fate that they found each other.
Damian and Pauline lived just six minutes down the road from each other and had overlapping friendship circles, but it took the internet to bring them together.
“I had tried it before but it was dreadful,” Pauline said.
“We both simultaneously decided to give it a go just once.”
A spokesperson from online dating site eHarmony said Christmas was its busiest time.
“Last year, traffic to eHarmony.com.au increased by a staggering 253 per cent nationally for the week following Boxing Day, compared to the preceding week,” the spokesperson said.
As for Pauline and Damian, for their six month anniversary they travelled to Apollo Bay where Damian used a strategically placed message in a bottle to pop the question.
“I noticed this message in a bottle in one of the rock pools,” Pauline said.
“I thought I had found a letter from China.”
The couple are now approaching their two year anniversary and said they could not be happier.
“We feel like we knew each other before we had met each other,” Pauline said.
