A $100,000 fundraising event that was going to be held in Werribee has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.
The One in 100 Year Fashion Parade was planned for Thursday 17 March at the Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre and would have been a fashion show with dresses and wedding gowns from throughout the ages.
Event organiser Heather Marcus had originally hoped to raise $100,000 through the event with all profits going to the Queensland flood victims.
Ms Marcus said she was disappointed that the event had to be cancelled but she was still hoping that some money could be raised for those effected by the floods. “The Committee is still looking at organising a different event that could raise some money,” Ms Marcus said.
