Council’s rapid rubbish response

MARIBYRNONG City Council’s new rapid response team is now working to help improve cleanliness across the municipality.
The team was created to deal with dumped rubbish and urgent public asset maintenance requests.
“Our residents feel enormous pride in their city and no-one likes seeing dumped rubbish piling up in their neighbourhood,” Mayor Sarah Carter said.
“This team will help keep our city looking good.
“We’re responding to community feedback about the need better maintain cleanliness in public spaces.”
The council’s Operations and Maintenance team will analyses any requests for service and notify the rapid response team about any unsightly or unsafe dumped rubbish.
The rapid response team is funded with $168,000 allocated in this financial year’s budget.
