A FAMILY feud in Point Cook left three people in a serious condition with stab wounds last week.
Detective Senior Constable Trevor Renden from the Werribee Police told Star that the incident started when a woman arrived at a house in Waves Drive at about 10.30pm last Tuesday.
“The female arrived at the house, which we believe was a relative’s house, and when she arrived there was a car load of people waiting for her,” Det Sen Const Renden said.
“We then believe she was seconded by up to three or four people.”
It is then believed that as other relatives inside the home witnessed what was happening, a woman was attacked, receiving stab wounds to the chest and face, while the woman that was originally attacked received laceration wounds to her back.
Detective Sen Const Renden said a man that came to the women’s aid was also attacked.
“A male that lived in the house came out and he was assaulted by up to eight males that had arrived in another couple of vehicles,” he said.
“He received stab wounds to the face and hands and was also beaten over the head with what we believe was a baseball bat.
“We believe it was a long-standing dispute between extended family members that has boiled over.”
All three victims had been released from hospital by last Wednesday and Det Sen Const Renden said the police investigation was ongoing.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident has been urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
