WYNDHAM residents will celebrate their cultural pallet later this month.
The council has invited the community to join in with Cultural Diversity Week activities from 16 until 22 March.
A council Cultural Diversity Forum will be held on 19 March and the community can attend to provide feedback about the Wyndham Cultural Diversity Policy and Action Plan 2008-10.
Iramoo Ward councillor Heather Marcus said these events were designed to celebrate cultural diversity and help plan for the future.
“One in five Wyndham residents were born overseas, with 27 per cent of residents speaking a language other than English at home,” Cr Marcus said.
“These sorts of statistics show the importance of documents like the Wyndham Cultural Diversity Policy and Action Plan and also mean that Wyndham has a lot to celebrate.”
Harmony Day celebrations will kick off at Weerama on 29 March.
