STAR News Group has confirmed its place as the premier football paper of the West after signing a major new sponsorship agreement with the Werribee Tigers. The new partnership further cements Star as the leading community and football newspaper in Wyndham.
The Tigers have become the third major football organisation to join Star after agreements with VFL counterpart Williamstown and the Western Region Football League (WRFL).
Star has become a principal sponsor of the Tigers.
“The Werribee Tigers hold a special place in the Wyndham community and Star is especially delighted to become a principal sponsor of the club,” said Jim Lawrence, Star’s general manager, North West Division.
“We look forward to cementing our relationship with the Tigers for the benefit of local sport and the community.”
As part of the deal the Tigers will be running around with the Star logo on their tracksuits as they look to back up last season’s VFL preliminary final appearance.
Werribee chief executive Mark Penaluna also looked forward to the new relationship. “We welcome Star News Group as a principal sponsor of the club and look forward to working with them in the future,” he said.
