Two leaks for

PROLONGED dry weather has been blamed for two water leaks in Fairbairn Rd, Sunshine West.
Sunshine resident Paul Scerri spoke to Star last week with concerns about a gutter leak, which he alleged, had been unattended for eight weeks.
Mr Scerri said he had noticed the leak eight weeks ago while walking his dog and contacted City West Water about the issue.
Some contractors had looked at the leak, but it was left unfixed, he said.
“It’s just not good enough,” Mr Scerri said.
“Water wastage is a big concern. The concrete has got moss on it because of all the water.”
But City West Water denied it had left the leak unattended.
Managing director Anne Barker said the leak had been fixed, but due to extended dry weather, another leak next to the initial one had cropped up soon after.
She admitted the company was experiencing an extreme busy period but said the second leak would be fixed as soon as possible.
“With continued dry weather affecting soil moisture levels, City West Water is currently experiencing a high number of bursts and leaks in its network, which is often the case at this time of year,” Ms Barker said.
Ms Barker encouraged other members of the community to report any leaks to 13 92837.
