WYNDHAM parents and babies are being invited to be a part of one of the area’s newest traditions.
The fourth Welcoming the Babies Ceremony will be held in early July and Prime Minister Julia Gillard has invited any parent with a child up to two-years-old.
Each family who attends the ceremony will receive a certificate and an information pack to assist them in the challenging and exciting time of their child’s early years.
“The Welcoming the Babies Ceremony is a great local initiative that I have organised over the past five years. It is a chance to publicly recognise the important role that families and the local community play in bringing up babies,” Ms Gillard said.
“The event helps remind parents they are not alone and that the birth of a child is important to the entire community.
“It is a good opportunity for parents to be made aware of the support that is available in their community.”
Spaces are limited and parents are encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible.
