The Werribee Concert Band will play an array of unforgettable songs from popular movies at a Movie themed concert in Hoppers Crossing this Sunday.
The band will be performing hits from movies such as Grease, James Bond, Lord of the Rings and Disney classics like The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
Michelle Forsyth, 18, was looking forward to the performance.
“Our aim is to create music for the community by people from the community,” Michelle said.
Michelle, who joined the band when she was in year seven, said audiences will enjoy hearing some memorable tracks from their favourite movies.
The non-profit organisation regularly contributes to community cultural activities through music.
The band is made up of volunteers of all age groups, the youngest only eight.
“It’s a bunch of really good music played by really good musicians,” Michelle said.
Later in the year the band will perform at the Werribee Open Range Zoo for their annual end of year Christmas concert.
See the band perform this Sunday 23 June at the Hoppers Crossing Uniting Church.
The band is always looking for new woodwind, brass and percussion players and players with all levels of experienced are encouraged to join.
