THE pages have been turning at Braybrook College since more than 100 students signed up in January to take part in the Premier’s reading challenge.
About 3400 books were checked out from the library during the annual challenge this year.
Last year 46 students completed the challenge, but this year more 100 students buried their heads in books.
Literacy co-ordinator Heather Millikan said the Premier’s reading challenge was one way the school encouraged students to read.
Students who enter the reading challenge must read a minimum of 15 books by the end of August, with at least some of them chosen from the Premier’s official list.
To mark the success, Greens MP Colleen Hartland recently paid a visit to the school to present the school’s top readers with awards.
