POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Werribee last week.
A 41-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash when he collided with a bus in Hoppers lane at about 9.45am on Wednesday 12 September.
The bus was struck on the passenger side by the motorcyclist after entering the street from the Victoria University Athletics field.
The driver of the bus, a 60-year-old man, is being questioned by police.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident and no one else was injured.
Days later on Sunday, a man was killed after being hit by a car as he was walking along the side of a road in Williams Landing.
The 33-year-old was walking on Palmers Rd, near Sayers Rd, with friends at about 8.45pm when a ford sedan travelling on the same road hit the man, knocking him to the ground.
Advanced life support paramedics treated the man at the scene and he was taken to the Alfred Hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
The 28-year-old driver from Werribee is helping police with the investigation.
This brings the state’s road toll to 199, two deaths less than the same time last year.
