A MAN has died and another is fighting for his life after the pair was hit by a car in Toorak early Monday morning.
The men were crossing Malvern Rd between Orrong Rd and Chatsworth Rd about 1.15am when they were hit by a BMW sedan.
One of the pedestrians, believed to be a local man in his 30s, died at the scene.
The other pedestrian, believed to be a Yarraville man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital suffering life-threatening injuries.
Police have interviewed the driver of the BMW, a Rowville man aged in his 20s.’
Malvern Rd was closed for several hours between St Johns Lane and Canterbury Rd but reopened just after 7am.
