A TAXI driver was attacked with a timber baton by his passenger last weekend.
Police believe the passenger was riding in the front of taxi on the Western Ring Rd near Sharps Rd when he tried to take the driver’s mobile telephone.
The man hit him with a timber baton concealed in his trousers.
The driver stopped the cab to escape, only to be pursued and punched in the jaw by the passenger.
The incident occurred on 11 August about 5.30pm.
Police are appealing for a driver of a white utility who intervened in the incident to contact them.
