BRIMBANK City councillor Troy Atanasovski has nominated for the Labor-held seat of North Western Province in the state Upper House.
The deputy mayor, who is in his second term on the council, said he was more than happy to take on the new role if elected.
He put in his nomination papers last Thursday night.
Cr Atanasovski believed it was only fair to take the opportunity.
“I’m using the normal procedure within the Labor Party.
‘“ I’m not running against anybody. There are five vacancies available,” Cr Atanasovski said.
He said he would continue delivering his council promises if elected.
“I’m just using my democratic rights to go for it,” he said.
