SUNSHINE Heights cemented a top-four spot with a resounding 75-point victory over North Footscray at Hansen Reserve in Division Two of the Western Region Football League (WRFL).
Only five Division Two matches were played on the weekend after the WRFL suspended the Central Altona Football Club for the rest of the season and the Brunswick Power Football Club copped a one-week suspension.
It was an even performance from the Sunshine Heights Dragons with Matthew Camilleri, Richard Smith and James Weston all kicking four goals.
Apart from a five-goal haul from Justin Lucas, North Footscray rarely troubled Sunshine Heights and continued its mid-season slump with its third consecutive loss.
North Footscray takes advantage of the bye this week and will be awarded the four points because of Central Altona’s suspension.
Meanwhile, Glenorden continued its undefeated run with a convincing win over a disappointing West Footscray.
While West Footscray cut Glenorden’s margin to less than six goals at three-quarter time, the visitors failed to stop the all-conquering Craig Rosenzweig, who kicked seven goals.
The Roosters have now dropped to fifth on the WRFL ladder.
In other games, Deer Park defeated Albanvale in a low-scoring game at Deer Park Sports Oval and sewed up second spot on the WRFL Division Two ladder.
Meanwhile, Wyndhamvale Falcons grabbed a 27-point over victory over lowly placed North Sunshine at Dempster Park and Gladstone Park thrashed the Western Magpies at Laverton Park.
