POLICEseized more than 100 marijuana plants from a St Albans home last week, the culmination of a surveillance operation.
Asian Squad and undercover detectives found the plants after searching an Eisner St property at 12.30pm on Tuesday.
Police also seized hydroponic equipment including lighting and heaters and pots for growing the plants.
A 48-year-old St Albans man was charged with various drugs offences including trafficking, cultivating and possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis.
He appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court and will reappear in the County Court in July.
The seizure was the second successful raid across Melbourne’s western suburbs in a fortnight.
Seven people were arrested in properties in St Albans, Delahey and Braybrook on 22 March with more than $60,000 worth of heroin, combined with vehicles and laptops, mobile phones, clothing, data projector cameras, swords, knives and cash.
