Station

WERRIBEE police have got their hands on a mobile station to help them in the continuing fight against crime.
They can take the mini-station anywhere in the city and use it for everything from a command post during emergencies to a breathalyser unit, Werribee Inspector Shane Dowling said.
The sides of the mobile station open like those on an ice-cream van.
“Then we’re open for business,” Insp Dowling said.
Two similar stations were successful during the Commonwealth Games.
Eventually there will be 12 mobile units stationed around Victoria.
Insp Dowling said he looked forward to taking the mobile stations into the community.
“We can take it down to Werribee Plaza, for example, and residents can come to us to sign forms or get the information they need, instead of going to the station.”
Insp Dowling said the mini mobile station could hold almost all the equipment officers would find in the main base. This would include computers with police databases.
