WYNDHAM Council has appointed a new director of corporate services.
A Wyndham resident, Peter Gould, replaces Steve Griffin, who resigned in June to take up a similar role at Geelong.
Mr Gould comes to Wyndham with a wealth of local government and corporate management experience, having been general manager of corporate services at Geelong for 10 years.
More recently, Mr Gould was executive director of corporate services for the Greater Southern Area Health Service and chief finance officer for La Trobe University.
Originally from Perth, Mr Gould also held the position of CEO from 1987 to 1995 at the CSA Credit Society.
Wyndham chief executive Peter Marshall said the city would benefit from his experience in corporate leadership.
“Peter has played an integral role in several major projects at La Trobe University that were being pursued in order to position itself for the future,” Mr Marshall said.
“His track record in developing and implementing a strategic vision in the areas of financial planning and corporate governance is outstanding.
“In a growth area such as Wyndham, his expertise in providing a long-term strategic plan for the council’s corporate services will be invaluable.”
Mr Gould will begin his new role today.
