VICTORIAN folk-rock band Zeptepi are set to rock through the western suburbs with their latest tour, starting in Werribee and ending in Footscray over the next two months.
Singer and guitarist Phil Dean said the band was looking forward to performing in the West, which is home to some of the bands members.
“It’s really nice to play out in the West,” Mr Dean said.
“It’s just nice to go out and play for people and we have a really good time,” he said.
The band is back after touring the UK and has just released its seventh album ‘Coming up for Air’.
Mr Dean said the band’s sound was a perfect mixture of good story-telling folk and high energy rock.
“It’s all the subtly and intelligence of good folk songs but all the energy of a good rock band,” he said.
“If you haven’t seen us before, you’ve never seen anything like us.”
It’s the first time the band has included the electric banjo in their album, adding an extra uniqueness to the band.
“It gives us something completely bizarre and different and something unique so it’s been great having the chance to record,” Mr Dean said.
The band is made of members drummer Paul Angus, fiddle player Claire Johnstone, bass player Patrick Lyons, banjo player CC Thornley and Phil himself who formed the group in 2004.
The band will be at the SoundBar, Werribee on 22 November and The Reverence, Footscray on 7 December.
