Fireworks set to explode

Fireworks, fun, family and friends will all be part of the celebrations at Werribee South foreshore this Australia Day.
The family friendly event is entering its third year and attracts thousands to Werribee South.
Along with the popular fireworks at dusk there will also be food, live music, entertainment and children’s activities.
Wyndham Mayor Heather Marcus said the event had attracted thousands of people in the past couple of years.
“This event is a great way for families to celebrate our national day, in an alcohol free environment in one of Wyndham’s greatest natural settings,” Cr Marcus said.
“Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic basket and rug and enjoy the atmosphere and activities on offer.”
“This event is ideal as it offers a great opportunity for families to have fun without having to travel outside the City. It’s not only perfect for the family; it’s a great way to show off one of Wyndham’s top community events in a terrific location to visitors.
“This Australia Day event marks the start of the 2013 events season, with Legends on the Lawn, the World’s Longest Lunch and the Pet Expo all coming up. These events offer something for all our residents and promise to attract a wide range of visitors to our wonderful city.”
Australia Day celebrations are on Saturday, 26th January 2013, with fireworks beginning at dusk. For more information, contact the Wyndham City Events Unit on 9742 0903 or visit www.wyndham.vic.gov.au
