CAROLINE Springs CFA unit is preparing to train a group of new volunteer firefighters, who will be available to attend fires and emergencies across the Shire of Melton.
Minster for Victorian Communities Peter Batchelor was at the Caroline Springs station last week to launch the new firefighter training and recruitment drive, which will begin on 6 May.
A $3000 government grant will help to train the new recruits, adding muscle to the 26 volunteer firefighters and 10 permanent staff members at the brigade.
