WERRIBEE registered its first win of the Division One women’s baseball season on Saturday knocking off Doncaster 4-3.
The win will come as a great boost to the Giants, who struggled in their opening match of the season last week.
It was always going to be a tough match against Doncaster, which travelled to the Giants’ Presidents Park in average conditions on Saturday.
Werribee coach Tony Culph said last week that Doncaster were “always up there playing for the premiership, they won’t be easy”.
But the Giants rallied to take the match by a run. The win lifted them to fifth position in the seven-team competition and sees them well placed to take on sixth-placed Port Melbourne this Saturday.
