Graffiti crackdown

A PROBLEM that has long been the ire of Wyndham residents will become the target of a new police blitz.
As he gets ready to sign off as Wyndham’s top cop, Inspector Bill Weatherly announced that he will “clamp down on anti-social behaviour and property damage”, particularly graffiti.
Insp Weatherly called on vandals to think about the consequences of their actions.
“Graffiti is a criminal damage offence and one that police and the community take very seriously,” Insp Weatherly said.
“It is important to consider the serious nature of an offence such as criminal damage and what it means to have a criminal record.”
Insp Weatherly also called on parents to remind their children of the implications that a criminal record may have on their future.
Anyone that witnesses public property damage taking place should call triple zero immediately.
