THIS weekend will be all about huge hoofs and hay bales at the National Equestrian Centre in Werribee South. The fifth annual National Heavy Horse Festival will he held on Saturday and Sunday, with breeds such as Clydesdales, Shires, Suffolk Punches, Percherons, Friesians, Gypsy Cobs, Fjords and Highland Ponies on show. For those wanting to see a bit more action there will be harness classes and ridden heavy horses, as well as novelty driving events. A vintage horse drawn fire cart will also be on display.
