EVERY day Paula Kegar happily takes her dog for a walk, just as many Wyndham residents do.
The difference between Ms Kegar and almost every other dog owner, is that her best friend catches a ride in a pram.
Ms Kegar has become well known in Werribee for her strange style of walking the dog, which she said was an indirect result of doctor’s orders.
“The doctor told me I had to get a walking frame, but I still wanted to be able take my dog for a walk, so I used the pram instead,” Ms Kegar said. Ms Kegar, originally from Slovenia, said Lucy, a Pomeranian and Jack Russell Terrier cross, was popular among the locals.
“Everybody likes her. They stop me to give her a pat,” she said.
“I don’t have any children so she’s like my baby. She’s become my best friend.”
Lucy was attacked by a German Shepherd several years ago and it was thought that she would not survive the ordeal.
Luckily she recovered fully so that she can continue to cruise the streets of Werribee with her doting owner.
