A TARNEIT man has been arrested along with three other men in relation to a string of robberies and armed robberies in the St Albans area.
Brimbank Embona Taskforce detectives with the assistance of other officers in the Brimbank police service area arrested and charged four men on Friday 11 January.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said two warrants were executed as part of Operation Troiluses in St Albans at addresses in McArthur Ave and Helen St.
The investigation relates to alleged thefts from a St Albans bottle shop, an armed robbery at a St Albans convenience store and a robbery on a taxi driver between Friday 4 January and Tuesday 8 January.
Temesgen Gebreyonas, 25, from St Albans, Chol Adub, 21 from Tarneit, Mustafa Muhumed, 26 from St Albans and Akol Maker, 19, from St Albans were all charged with armed robbery, robbery and other related offences.
All four men appeared before an out of session court hearing on the day of their arrests and Gebreyonas, Muhumed, and Maker were expected to face the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court while Adub was expected to face the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court last week.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police made arrests following an aggravated burglary gone wrong on Sunday 13 January.
At around 1am three men armed with steel poles forced their way into a Foxton St home in St Albans assaulting the two male occupants and stealing items before fleeing in a car.
The assailants crashed their motor vehicle soon afterwards and were arrested by police.
One victim received facial injuries and was treated at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the other sustained minor leg injuries.
